1. What is the cost to book an activity space?

2. What is the best way to book a space?

3. Can I rent only 1 court for badminton? Or volleyball?

You may rent a minimum of a half a gym. This would provide you with a minimum of 1 volleyball court or 2 badminton courts.

4. How can the gyms be booked?

The gyms may be booked as a full gym or a half gym. A half gym is a minimum of 2 badminton courts or 1 volleyball court, or a half basketball court (2 nets). A full gym is a minimum of 4 badminton courts, or 2 volleyball courts, or a full regulation basketball court (2-4 nets).

5. Is the drop-in rate included with the space rental booking?

The rental fee of a space includes access to the time and space booked. Your group will be provided with access cards that each person must get a copy of.

6. How many people does the space rental allow to access the facility?

You may bring as many people as you wish to your rental provided they have an access card and space capacities are not surpassed as laid out by the Fire Marshall. If you wish to access other parts of the facility you will need to pay the drop-in rate at Customer Service. Your anticipated numbers will be discussed at the time of booking to ensure you are within regulations.

7. What are the dimensions of the spaces?

8. What are the temperatures of the pools (in Degree Celsius)?

  • South Pool: 28º

9. How deep are the pools?

  • South Competition Pool: 2.6 metres
  • North Competition Pool: 1.8 metres

  • Teach Pool: 1.2 metres to 0.6 metres

10. Is there a discount for members or Sport Partners?

We provide the above rates for commercial users and members. Sport Partners receive a discounted rate based on their approved Sport Partner Criteria.

11. Our group is not-for-profit, can we get a discount?

We offer the commercial rate for not-for-profit groups. We invite not-for-profit groups to review the Sport Partner Criteria Application and to apply on the next available cycle. For more information please visit the Sport Partner section on our website.

12. How far in advance should I book the space I would like to use?

We require 7 business days (business days refers to Monday through Friday, excluding stat holidays) notice for all bookings. Bookings are accomodated under the following timelines:

14. What set-up and take-down is my group responsible for?

The facility is responsible for field of play set ups, such as lane rope removal or additions, water polo nets, volleyball nets, badminton nets, and basketball nets. The user group is responsible for set ups that are specific to their rental, like obstacle courses. User groups are also responsible for ensuring that the space is clean and ready for the next group. Failure to leave the area clear of garbage and equipment may result in a $50 charge.

15. Do you host birthday parties?

You are welcome to book space and host your birthday party at Talisman Centre. We also have poolFloatables available.

Please note that all of the above activities are part of programs or services that Talisman Centre offers.

18. Do I have to bring my own equipment?

We recommend you bring your own equipment. Talisman Centre has a limited supply of equipment available. Please let us know if you require any equipment and we can look into availability for you.

19. How early may we access our booked space?

Access will begin 30 minutes prior to the start of your rental. This can be used to change and meet prior to the booking. You may access the rented space at the start time booked.

20. Do we have access to the entire facility when we book space?

You will be granted access to the time and space booked. If you wish to have access to other parts of the facility you are welcome to pay the drop-in rate at Customer Service.

21. Can we go swimming, use the hot tub or steam room after our booking in the gym?

You have access to the time and space booked. If you wish to access other areas of the facility after your rental, you are welcome to pay the drop-in rate at Customer Service.

22. What is the cancellation policy?

To cancel a singular booking, the user group must provide 7 days' written notice prior to the start of the activity to The user group will not be charged for the cancelled space and Talisman will provide a cancellation confirmation to the designated contact person. In the event that email is not available or working, please phone 403-355-1294 and leave a voice message if that person is unavailable to take the call.

23. How do I pay for my booking?

All bookings must be paid by credit card at the time of booking over the phone. Please call 403-355-1294 to make payments.
