Drop-in Class Schedule



Over the next few weeks Talisman Centre will be filming short clips from of our Group Fitness classes. These clips will be used for promotional purposes are on our website, Facebook, and YouTube. Help us show the rest of Calgary how great our classes are! Participate in the classes and you could be caught on film!

For those that are camera shy, no need to worry - we will only be filming a few classes each week and the camera will only be there for a short 10-15 minutes.

Whether you're looking for your 15 minutes of fame or prefer to stay behind the scenes, all classes that will be filmed are marked below on the Group Fitness Schedule and there are many more that are camera free. So, please plan your workout schedule accordingly.

Each class participant will be required to sign an image release allowing us to use the footage for promotional use.

You will require a Drop-In Fitness card to access all classes. These cards are handed out 30 minutes prior to the start of class at the Customer Service Desk except for classes located in the Profile Room or Mezzanine, these cards can be picked up at the Fitness Centre Desk.



Drop-In Group Fitness Access Card Policy:

Drop-In Fitness Access Cards are an integral part of a system that has been put in place to help monitor the number of people participating in the Drop-In Fitness classes offered at the Talisman Centre. The goal of the system is to have every person participating in a Drop-In Fitness class obtain a Drop-In Fitness Access card prior to the start of each class. If utilized on a regular basis, the Drop-In Fitness Access Cards can serve the following functions:
  • Help monitor the number of participants attending each Drop-In Fitness class
  • Assist with Fitness Centre Consultants with the hourly stat counts within the facility
  • Assist the Duty Manager/ Fire Warden in tracking the number of people in the facility during an evacuation or an emergency
  • Guarantee people the opportunity to participate in Drop-In Fitness class without having to stand in line
  • Ensure that there is adequate equipment available for people to participate in the Drop-In Fitness class
  • Assist the Group Fitness Instructor in monitoring the number of participants within each class

Yoga, Power Cycle, Boot Camp, Deep H2O Fitness and Red Ball

  • Drop-In Fitness Cards are available in two locations of the facility:
    • Fitness Centre Desk: Yoga & Power Cycle
    • Customer Service Desk: Get RIPPED! Group Power, Boot Camp, Cardio Kickboxing, Deep Water Fitness, Maximum Step and Red Ball
  • Participants are required to pick up a Drop-In Fitness Access Card no earlier than 30 minutes prior to the start of each Drop-In Fitness class (Please note: collateral is no longer required)
  • The Group Fitness Instructors are required to collect the Drop-In Fitness Cards from all of the participants prior to the start of each class
  • No one is permitted to take a Drop-In Fitness class without providing a "Drop-In Fitness Card."
  • At the end of each class, the Group Fitness Instructor is required to return the Drop-In Fitness Access cards to the appropriate location within the facility

Get RIPPED!, Group Power, Cardio Kickbox and Maximum Step

  • Drop-In Fitness Cards are available in two locations of the facility:
    • Fitness Centre Desk: Yoga & Power Cycle
    • Customer Service Desk: Get RIPPED! Group Power, Boot Camp, Cardio Kickboxing, Deep Water Fitness, Maximum Step and Red Ball
  • Participants are required to pick up a Drop-In Fitness Access Card no earlier than 30 minutes prior to the start of each Drop-In Fitness class (Please note: collateral is no longer required)
  • A Talisman Centre Representative will open the storage room in Gym #1 for the participants 15 minutes prior to the start of each class
  • The participants will hand the Talisman Centre Representative a Drop-In Fitness Access Card.
  • Once the Drop-In Fitness Card has been handed in, the participant is permitted to gain entry into the storage room and take the equipment required to participate in the class (Please note: participants are not required to take equipment and set up for their colleagues, friends and/or family members)
  • After the class has started, the Talisman Centre Representative will return the Drop-In Fitness Cards to the appropriate location
  • The Group Fitness Instructors are required to ensure that the equipment is returned and the storage room is locked at the end of class

Drop-In Fitness Class Capacities


Boot Camp - 30 participants (Gym 1)
Cardio Kickbox - 50 participants (Gym 1)
Deep H2O Fitness - 20 participants (North Competition Pool)
Get RIPPED! - 80 participants (Gym 1)
Group Power - 50 participants (Gym 1)
Maximum Step - 80 participants (Gym 1)
Power Cycle - 10 participants (Mezzannine)
Red Ball - 30 participants (Gym 1)
Yoga - 30 participants (Profile Room)

Age Restriction Policy:

  • Adults 16 years of age or older are permitted to attend Group Fitness classes.
  • Children 13 to 15 are permitted to attend if they are accompanied by an adult over age 18. (No more than two children per adult supervisor.)
  • The child must be within arms reach of their adult supervisor at all times. Children 13 to 15 must participate in a pre-class orientation, which should be arranged in advance by calling 403.355.1246.
  • Children age 12 and under are not permitted in Group Fitness classes.

Class Descriptions:

  • BOOT CAMP: An exciting, challenging workout including a variety of drills to develop coordination, agility and strength.
  • CARDIO KICKBOX: A high-energy hour of drills utilizing kickboxing techniques.
  • POWER CYCLE: Intervals, hills, racing and a full body workout on a stationary bike.
  • DEEP H2O FITNESS: A low impact, joint-friendly workout routine that builds strength and cardiovascular health with running and resistance exercises in deep water with the help of a flotation device. Swimming ability is required.
  • Get RIPPED!: A progressive, athletic-based workout that uses resistance training and intervals to strengthen tone and define every major muscle group in your body. Burn fat, burn calories and build lean muscle. Get RIPPED! is ideal for beginners and experienced users alike.
  • GROUP POWER: This 60 minute barbell program strengthens all your major muscles in an inspiring, motivating group environment with fantastic music and awesome instructors. With simple, athletic movements such as squats, lunges, presses and curls, Group Power is for all ages and fitness levels.
  • MAXIMUM STEP: An advanced high step class mixed with intense athletic interval drills.
  • RED BALL: An exciting version of the traditional game that follows an "anything goes" philosophy. There are no limitations to the number of people that can participate.
  • YOGA: Relax and get energized with yoga postures and movements in a relaxing class.
  • YOGA STRETCH: A variety of healing postures using basic yoga techniques to stimulate the body and mind.
