Pre-natal / Post-natal Aqua-Fitness Instructor

As a key part of our Athletic Wellness Group, your goal will be to provide new and expecting moms with an energizing and informative experience by leading Pre and Post Natal aqua-fitness based classes.

Responsibilities

ƒ Assist in the development, implementation, and instruction of Pre and Post-Natal specific programs based on the type of class (Aquatic). ƒ Be a spokesperson for Talisman Centre and present yourself in a positive manner by leading participants in effective and well-planned classes. ƒ Assist the Health and Wellness Program Coordinator with the evaluation of the program by providing

feedback and recommendations for class/program improvement. ƒ Handle and report to the Health and Wellness Program Coordinator any class concerns or emergencies. ƒ Exercise safety awareness and practices ƒ Set-up and take down of equipment when applicable ƒ Secure a substitute when unable to work assigned class and report changes to the supervisor ƒ Follow and enforce all policies, rules, and regulations while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude

Qualifications

You have a high energy level and enjoy working in a fast paced, challenging, and changing environment. You are working toward, or have completed, your education in Kinesiology, or a related degree, and have a minimum of one year experience instructing pre/post-natal exercise classes. Your education is complemented by current certifications in CPR C, First Aid, and Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification Association (AFLCA) specialty. Additional certifications would be assets while a positive attitude and enthusiasm are essential. Your knowledge of fitness and ability to motivate others, along with excellent customer service, communication, organization, ability to set priorities, and problem solving skills will ensure your success. Your proven track record working with large groups of people independently and in a team environment is an asset to the work you do.

Employment Terms

ƒ This is a part-time or contract position and has flexible hours (days, evenings, and some weekends)ƒ This position is considered to be front-line and will therefore require the incumbent to wear a Talisman Centre issued shirt and proper associated attire. ƒ General membership at our sport and wellness facility is included.
