Three Cheers for Summer!
by Nicole Madden & Sara Schwarz
Splash into summer 2004 at Stanley Park Outdoor Pool. Come out and celebrate our grand opening Saturday, June 12 with your family, friends and the Stanley Park community. Enjoy a FREE barbeque, entrance to the pool, games, prizes, face painting and much more, for only a toonie. This is one kick off to the summer you don’t want to miss.
All you lane swimmers itching to hit the pool can work up an appetite from 10:00-12:00 p.m. and then join the rest us for a FREE barbeque from 1:00-5:00 p.m., provided by the Stanley Park Outdoor Pool. Family swim is from 12:00-1:00 p.m. and the pool is open to the public from 1:00-7:00 p.m., followed by lane swim from 7:00-8:00 p.m.
Stanley Park Outdoor Pool is located just off the Elbow River pathway in the heart of the city. This paradise is one of Calgary’s best-kept secrets. Take a trip down memory lane or create new memories as you relax by the pool, take a dip, picnic and enjoy quality time with your family and friends. Stanley Park offers the unique swim program, Sears I Can Swim, for children of all ages and abilities as well as drop-in deep water running classes. Please call the Talisman Centre at 233-8393 to register for swimming lessons today!
Stanley Park Outdoor Pool serves to create a sense of community in a society which has forgotten what that means. In order to have community there must be a central focus. In the Stanley Park community the focal point is the skating rink in the winter and the swimming pool in the summer. Stanley Park outdoor pool serves as a meeting point and a common ground to bring together all walks of life.
Reconnect with friends from summer’s past, meet new friends and relax in this hidden gem. We are all about community at Stanley Park Outdoor Pool and look forward to celebrating summer 2004 with you.
