Training, fitness, healthy lifestyles, competition, personal bests.  A leader in the sport and recreation industry.  Talisman Centre represents all of these goals and more.  Calgary is one of the most active, vibrant cities in Canada - and Talisman Centre is the hub of that energy.  First opened in 1983, Talisman Centre has become the second most widely visited multi-sport facility in north America through innovative programming and leading-edge technology.

The facility and land are owned by the City of Calgary and managed by the non-profit Lindsay Park Sports Society on behalf of Calgarians.  The Board of Directors has 22 volunteer members.  14 representing sporting communities, 4 representing neighbouring communities, 2 representing public and separate school boards, 1 appointed by the City of Calgary, and the immediate Past President.  The centre's daily operations are conducted by 52 full-time and priority part-time employees, plus over 180 additional part-time employees.

Whether customers choose to be active in the pools, gyms, track, circuit training, drop in classes, athletic development, weight room, or personal training, the core of the organization is its participants.  Approximately 25% of the approximately 1.4 million visits in 2001 were made by annual pass holders - many of which have been frequenting the facility since it first opened as part of the Western Canada Summer Games legacy.

Calgary is known for its energy, enthusiasm, and athleticism - join us at Talisman Centre and experience the joy of active living for yourself!
